Divorce or Justice: My husband’s Choice

Synopsis

The day our son was born, my husband—the base commander—proposed a marriage in name only.

“For Annalise to grow up happy, I won’t divorce you,” he said coolly. “But aside from that, don’t expect affection from me.”

From then on, we lived like strangers bound by duty. If I stumbled in front of him, he would step aside rather than steady me. In public, he kept a careful distance, never allowing so much as a brush of fingers.

His political rivals searched relentlessly for scandal, hoping to expose impropriety within his household. What they found instead was something colder: in seven years of marriage, we had never held hands at a military function, never embraced beneath the flash of cameras—never even shared a kiss.
