Be A Good Girl Before My Death

Synopsis

In the final stage of cancer, I was told there was only one treatment that could save me. But James chose to give it to my sister, Victoria—even though her diagnosis was still early and manageable. That was the moment I understood I had already been abandoned. I stopped fighting. I took a powerful painkiller, fully aware it would shut down my organs and end my life within three days.

With my time running out, I quietly put my affairs in order. I transferred my life’s work to Victoria. My parents watched with visible relief, as if a burden had finally been lifted. James placed the divorce papers in front of me, and I signed without hesitation. He let out a breath and said I was finally being reasonable.

I gently nudged little Serena toward Victoria and told her to call her “Mom.” Serena smiled brightly and declared that Mom was the best. I signed over every asset I owned, leaving nothing behind. They saw nothing strange in my actions—only nodded with satisfaction and said their sensible Sarah Wilson had finally come back to her senses.

But as I prepared to disappear from their lives forever, one question lingered in my heart: After I’m gone, will any of them ever think of me?
