The Contract’s Warmth

Synopsis

The new transfer student—the quiet, brooding one everyone whispered about—was rumored to be an Incubus.

At a party in the VIP lounge, my childhood friend shoved me toward him with a crooked grin. “Don’t you have that little condition of yours? Go on—hug him. He feeds on attention, and you can’t stand being without touch. Sounds like fate to me.”

Laughter exploded around us. I stood there, mortified, the taunts ringing in my ears until I finally fled.

Later, when another episode struck and I was hiding alone, trembling, he found me. There was no mockery in his eyes—only concern. Kneeling beside me, he spoke softly. “If you want… we can form a Pact. I can help you.”

Through tears, I whispered yes and let myself lean into his arms.

But when my childhood friend saw us together, panic replaced his teasing. Desperate, he began scouring every book he could find, searching for a way to undo the very bond he had pushed me toward.
